The obvious question – why this website? how did it come about? and will it make a difference?
Links to Peace intends to be a resource for anyone to use. It hopes to perform a function of providing information, and also a means of linking or connecting up groups and people that might benefit or be inspired by these links.
The website has come about as a direct outcome from walking for peace through various countries, meeting many groups and individuals working for peace, and seeing that there is a need for these links to be made. Links didn’t seem to exist, and many hard working groups operated in relative isolation.
This evolved out of a Walk for Peace made in 2015 from Rome to Jerusalem. A subsequent UK Cities for Peace Tour in 2017 reinforced an apparent need for this resource, and this has continued with further tours in the UK, Peace Walks in Europe, and travels globally.

Berlin to Budapest will happen during May and June 2025, and again time will be spent in these 5 cities meeting people and groups and gathering more information for the website. There are Peace Trails in Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest which will be explored.

Baltic Walk for Peace 2024

The Baltic Walk for Peace will happen during May and June 2024, and between the walking, time will be spent in these four cities meeting people, visiting groups and organisations, and researching for further information to add to the website.

The intention is also to encourage and promote a number of initiatives and groups:
“One Day One Choir” is a wonderful global initiative set up in 2014 to encourage people to get together in their communities and schools to sing for peace on the United Nations International Day of Peace, 21st September.
